The first white paper of the project is finally open-access, providing an overview of the project’s scope, objectives and progress towards developing data-driven solutions for the sustainable management of agrivoltaic systems.
The document outlines the main research and development areas addressed by the project, including agrivoltaic system monitoring, photovoltaic performance, crop and irrigation management, data-driven modelling, digital tools, and sustainability assessment. It also provides an overview of the methodologies being developed and the progress achieved during the initial stages of the project.
By bringing together the different technical components of DIGI-GROW, the white paper provides a comprehensive picture of how the project aims to support more informed decision-making in agrivoltaic systems. The approach considers the interactions between energy production, crop performance, water use and environmental sustainability, with the goal of contributing to more efficient and resilient agri-food systems.
The publication also serves as a starting point for the project’s forthcoming developments and results. As DIGI-GROW progresses, the knowledge and tools developed within the project will be further tested and refined through research activities and demonstration sites.
